Dan, tell us about yourself.
My name is Dan DeWitt, I am from Dry Prong, Louisiana. I have been an outfitter and hunting guide for over 35 years. Taking people on guides for White Tail, Mule Deer, Turkey, Elk, Hogs, Exotic Species, Ducks, Geese, and Pheasants. I am a member of the NRA, NWTF, RMEF, and UCFWT. I have been a featured hunting guide on outdoor shows, and am a pro-staff/team member for numerous brands. In 2019 I was inducted into the Outdoor Legends Hall of Fame.
Wow, The Outdoor Legends Hall of Fame, how did that come to be?
Well, I was the first person to ever get a Double Grand Slam on public land. I have also taken a Double Royal Slam in a single season, and a Turkey Grand Slam with a bow in a single season. I have also taken a Turkey in 30 out of 49 states that have a season. I have been very blessed as a hunter, and love to share the outdoors and hunting with everyone.

You say you like to share your hunting experience, could you go into that for us a little bit?
I really enjoy getting the youth involved. For the past 17 years I have held summer camps with groups like the NWTF, and local 4-H groups, that teach kids of all ages proper hunting methods. I have taken over 150 kids, and adults on their first successful hunts.
You helped us form Team Cooper Hunting and have been a longtime friend of the brand. What is it about Cooper Hunting Products that you enjoy most?
I really love the Chameleon+ blind. The size is perfect for bringing your wife, or grandchild out hunting. It keeps us better concealed, and the fact that it keeps you bone dry when it’s raining is a huge plus.
Aside from being a founding member of Team Cooper Hunting, are there any other brands that you’re a fan of that Cooper Hunting members should keep an eye out for?
Aside from my own synthetic buck attractant Cuzz’s Cooter Juice, I really like what the folks over at Veterans Innovation Products (VIP)
are doing with their broadheads. I also really like Pittman Game Calls
and Appalachian Custom Calls.
